You can getaway from the stress of urban life, but not leave the city. How? Yes, San Francisco has a marvelous campground only 20 minutes from Downtown. And if you're curious, San Francisco only has one campground within the city limits. Let's read more about Rob Hill Campground in the city!
Rob Hill Campground is in the Presidio near the Batteries to Bluffs Trail and Immigrant Point Overlook.
Rob Hill Campground is above Baker Beach at the Presidio's highest point. This is the only campground in San Francisco.
There are two campsites that each can accommodate up to 30 people. Each campsite offers a fire pit, bbq grill, and picnic tables. Also, Rob Hill has restrooms but no showers.
To spend the night in the city in the only campground is nearly impossible to find. You can see the lights of Sutro Tower, smell the ocean, and hear the owls in their Cypress roosts. Amazing!
Waking up in the Presidio is an experience in itself. This wonderful city park offers a wonderful coast, nature, and beauty.
We are lucky because there aren't many cities where a kid can jump on a bus and go camping. Rob Hill Campground is truly one-of-a-kind.
The Rob Hill Campground is open until October 31, 2017. All Friday and Saturday dates are booked for the entire season, so plan ahead.
