Autumn has been my favorite time of the year since I was a kid. Back then, I couldn’t wait to dress up for Halloween, march in the school parade to show off my costume (and get candy), and go trick-or-treating. While I still love the spooky season, I’m equally enamored with all that fall brings – cooler days, colorful landscapes, and scrumptious treats. Fall also promises an enchanting backdrop for a getaway and the perfect opportunity to admire the best fall foliage in Rhode Island.
Planning an autumn getaway, especially if we’re all about the fall foliage, means finding that one Airbnb where we’ll be able to admire the colors whether we’re indoors or outdoors. That could pose a few challenges if, of course, we didn’t know about this spacious lakefront home in Coventry. Sitting on a wooded lot, this five-bedroom, three-bathroom Airbnb, with a heated pool, delivers the fall feels in a big way.
Autumn sunlight pours into the large windows, some of which overlook the brilliant fall palette, throughout this more than 4,000-square-foot home that’s packed with amenities – a full kitchen, a 65-inch TV, a ping-pong table, and a dedicated workspace. Even if you have to work while you’re away, you’ll probably find yourself drawn to the outdoor space, which features a 60-foot deck, a patio, a grill, and an outdoor dining area.
Even if it’s chilly, slip one of the four complimentary kayaks into the lake (you’ll have private beach access), and don’t forget to pack your swimming gear. The heated in-ground pool is open through mid-September, although you can talk with the home’s owners to see if the pool can remain open and heated later in the season.
Spend crisp fall evenings around the roaring fire pit, wrapped in a blanket, and maybe roasting marshmallows. All of that creates the perfect ambiance for the telling of a few good, old-fashioned ghost stories. You never know what’s causing the rustling of the leaves and the crackling of branches in the yard…is it the cool New England breeze or something more sinister?
