Break out the bucket list! With summer just about on our doorstep, we've got no better time than now to start planning the most perfect 93 days of the year. In the mood to kick back and relax among nature, to hike through the woods, and to sleep under the stars? Or, perhaps you'd prefer a more action-packed getaway, complete with a full menu of activities - from hayrides and scavenger hunts to swimming and paintball? This waterpark campground near Pittsburgh offers a little bit of it all.
Roll down the windows or pump up the a/c for your leisurely drive - about 1.5 hours - to Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Mill Run.
Start your outdoor adventure by checking in to your overnight accommodation. Park your RV in a spot among the trees. Or, go rustic in an old-fashioned tent.
Of course, Jellystone also offers cozy cabins, including bungalows and lofts. (Some cabins are even pet-friendly.)
Celebrate the start of your adventure by cooling down at the water park, which officially opens on Memorial Day for the 2018 season.
The water park at Jellystone Park is open daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Float in the shimmering pool or grab a chair along the water to catch some rays.
Or, play in the spray park, where you can let the water tumble down on you before zipping down one of the water slides.
Then, again, you might also want to start a game of Water Wars - an old-fashioned game of water balloons.
The waterpark might be the masterpiece of Jellystone Park. But, don't forget to check out the many other activities at the campground.
Climb aboard a wagon, a hay, or a train ride. Play bingo. Make crafts. Shoot a few rounds of mini golf and have a picnic lunch. And, don't forget to snap a few selfies with Yogi Bear and his buds.
Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Mill Run is located at 839 Mill Run Rd., Mill Run, PA 15464.
