Stay Overnight In The 138-Year-Old Painted Lady Bed & Brew, An Allegedly Haunted Spot In New Mexico

The Painted Lady Bed & Brew in Albuquerque offers a unique B&B experience with complimentary beer and a haunted history.

October might as well be called National Spooky Month, especially in New Mexico. Not only is Halloween and Día de Los Muertos around the corner, but the state is also chock full of potentially haunted spots. So, if you’re looking for some local haunts that will make your skin crawl, there are quite a few you can find around the state.

But, if you just happen to want to chance becoming a ghoul’s new best friend, you may want to check into a potentially haunted hotel. And we have just the spot for you to check out!

The Painted Lady Bed & Brew is a little inn located in Albuquerque but don’t expect this to be your run of the mill, cutesy B&B.

The inn’s motto - "breakfast is overrated" - sets the tone for what sets this B&B apart from others. Rather than serve a complimentary breakfast, it serves beer on the house.

The inn serves up their daily happy hour for B&B guests at 5:05 p.m. with some deliciously salty snacks.

You’ll find a wide variety of locally crafted beers here and you can get two 12-ounce servings.

Among the options: IPA, stout, lager, and more. If you prefer to visit one of Albuquerque’s local breweries, the B&B offers complimentary growlers and refrigerators to store your beer of choice.

And as for those ghosts? The B&B reports at least four separate ghosts roaming the property.

This includes a particularly aggressive female ghost, a beer-drinking spirit, and a creepy succubus.

By the way, those white doors you see in this picture? Those are the original doors to the brothel!

Considering there are four known ghosts residing at the Painted Lady Bed & Brew, it’s highly likely you’ll encounter one upon checking in to your room.

But at least you’ll be pleased to know you can get a good night’s rest here! The rooms are quiet, humble, and cozy - just the perfect mix for a weekend away from home.

There is a living area with photos, art prints, and a TV to make sure you don’t miss out your favorite show in between the craft brews and spooky history.

Additionally, the B&B is a perfectly intimate venue for parties, weddings, and other events.

It also hosts a regular magic show at least once per month!

The Painted Lady Bed & Brew is located in the heart of the Historic Well Park neighborhood of Albuquerque. To book a room or learn more about special events, visit their website or Facebook page.
