2. Kohl's Resort, Bemidji

Kohl's Resort has several cozy cabins to choose from. They're all nestled in the woods along Big Turtle Lake in Bemidji.

3. Golden Eagle Lodge, Grand Marais

Way up in Grand Marais, this is one of our favorite winter getaways. It's so special that wildlife lovers may even get the opportunity to see a moose! Golden Eagle Lodge's two- and three-room cabins offer stunning views of Flour Lake and the fall forest beyond.

7. Mountain Villas, Duluth

Okay, so maybe this isn't exactly what you picture when you think of a cozy cabin in Minnesota, but we think it still counts. Mountain Villas are actually houses perched high in the trees on Duluth's Skyline Drive. Many of the cabins feature large windows with views of Lake Superior in the distance. But the real draw, of course, is that you get to be up close and personal with the natural surroundings.

We all know that Lake Superior is one of the most gorgeous sights in Minnesota. Dodge's Log Lodges in Duluth took advantage of that by setting its cabins as close as possible to the water. There are six classic log cabins to choose from. The Aspen Cabin, pictured above, looks especially rustic.

9. Trapper's Landing Lodge, Walker

Trapper's Landing Lodge on Leech Lake has many lake homes and cabins to choose from, but in the name of keeping things rustic, we'd stay at one of their classic Merit cabins. You can rent one with one, two, or three bedrooms furnished with simple decor to make your vacation feel cozy. Leech Lake is surrounded on all sides by Chippewa National Forest. Given the location, renting a cabin here is a safe bet for an ideal winter cabin getaway.

10. Timber Trail Lodge, Ely
