You might not think there's too much going on in such a small town, but it's not far from the larger cities of Lawrence and Topeka, so you have plenty of options to escape into the more active city life if you prefer! Lecompton is about halfway between Lawrence and Topeka. Lawrence, of course, is known as the home of the University of Kansas.

I can see this being such a great place for parents to stay while visiting their KU kids.

As the state capital, there's plenty to see in Topeka.

A visit to the State Capitol is always fun and educational.

Another great attraction in Topeka is Gage Park.
