Spend the Night in This Old Georgia Mill For An Experience You’ll Never Forget
Historic Habersham Mills in Demorest, Georgia offers unique and beautifully renovated accommodations with a rich history.
Have you ever imagined spending the night in a converted Post Office? What about a renovated iron mill? Well, if you're searching for a good place in Georgia to get away and need some out-of-the-ordinary accommodations, we may just have the place for you. Historic Habersham Mills is easily North Georgia's most unique and extraordinary renovated space. Spending the night in one of the renovated rooms is pure bliss, not to mention a historical treasure. Take a look below and find out why:
Back in the late 1830s, Habersham Mills was the site of both a cotton mill and an iron mill in Demorest Georgia.
The mill even made cannons during the Civil War, until eventually, over time, it closed down completely and was left in disarray.
Recently, a team of architects swooped in set on restoring this structure to its former glory.
The team spent hours building and designing four individual rooms which are absolutely spectacular, where guests can come and spend the night while learning about the mill’s history.
While the land is sprawling, the four rental units are nestled together at the top of the hill overlooking the Soque River.
This particular space is located over what was originally the Habersham Post Office and General Store.
It has been beautifully remodeled with reclaimed wood found onsite.
The exposed brick is a fabulous touch, and gives a more industrial chic feel.
You also have the option to sleep inside the old Post Office.
The original, free standing building can accommodate up to four, so it's perfect for a family looking for a little bit of history.
There is even a full-sized fridge and kitchen space where you can whip up something tasty.
A fire pit on site draws guests in from the cold to sit and share stories.
Another space available for rent is located right behind the Post Office and General Store.
The screened in porch lets you enjoy some relaxation, and listen to the soothing sounds of the Soque.
With original floors and reclaimed materials throughout, it's hard not to fall in love with this space.
Even the larger renovated areas are extremely popular for weddings!
And the newly built deck and bridge by the waterfall transforms this historical place.
Come to Habersham Mills and see for yourself how these renovated spaces have become something to marvel over in Georgia.
