The Historic Basin Park Hotel In Arkansas Is Notoriously Haunted And We Dare You To Spend The Night

Basin Park Hotel in Eureka Springs is known for its luxurious accommodations and haunted reputation, offering interactive ghost tours.

The Crescent Hotel may be the most famous haunted hotel in Arkansas, but it’s certainly not the only one. There are quite a few others, including the Basin Park Hotel. And unlike some haunts, that try to keep the supernatural happenings under wraps, the Basin Park Hotel celebrates its penchant for the paranormal via ghost tours.

The Basin Park Hotel towers over the other buildings in downtown Eureka Springs, which makes sense. It’s touted as one of the largest and most modern resort hotels in the U.S.

Luxe accommodations and amenities aren’t all it’s known for, though.

The Basin Park Hotel also has a reputation for being haunted.

Tales of strange and unusual happenings have been around for nearly as long as the hotel, which opened in 1905.

The origins of the hotel’s ghosts remain a mystery. However, there are a few theories. Some attribute the strange occurrences to the healing springs located near the hotel, while others say it’s due to the fact that the hotel was built on the "grave" of the Perry House (which is the hotel that Basin Park Hotel replaced after it burned to the ground in 1890).

The hotel isn’t shy about its notorious reputation, though. Instead, it embraces it by offering ghost tours.

During the 1-hour Ghost Adventour, you’ll learn all about the hotel’s haunted past.

The Basin Park Hotel is believed to be haunted by several entities, but the two that are seen the most are a little girl in a yellow dress and a young woman with long blonde hair.

You’ll also hear about the results of past paranormal investigations. Of course, you’ll get to do more than hear about past investigations.

The Ghost Adventour is completely interactive, so you’ll get to participate in the investigation!

Along the way, you’ll get to measure cold spots with an infrared thermometer, take photos, and use special equipment to pick up hidden sounds.

The tour isn’t the only way to experience the ghosts of Basin Park Hotel, though.

In the past, guests have spotted some strange and unusual things, including orbs on specific wings of the guest floors and human-shaped shadows and phantom faces in the ballroom.

Ghost tours are offered daily at 10:30 p.m. For more information, call the Basin Park Hotel at (479) 253-7837. You can also visit the hotel's website or Facebook page.
