Oregon is known for its artsy cities, dense forests, stunning landscapes and, of course, for being at the end of the Oregon Trail. 12. Oregon is home to a whopping 152 breweries. Plus, Portland has more microbreweries than any other city in the world. That's a lot of beer.
11. One fourth of the country’s llama population call Oregon home.
10. The smallest park in the world is Mill Ends Park in Portland.
9. Each year, Portland hosts one of the biggest World Naked Bike Rides in the world.
8. Oregon has more ghost towns than any other state in the country.
7. In 1938, about 70 pairs of 10,000 year old sandals were found in a cave in central Oregon. It took 70 years for researchers to realize they had found the oldest shoes in the world!
6. The (now defunct) North American Wildlife Research Team erected a Bigfoot trap in the Siskiyou National Forest in 1974. It was kept baited with animal carcasses for six years.
5. The first wiki website was developed in Portland.
4. Tillamook Rock Lighthouse is the final resting place of around 30 cremated people.
3. Boring, Oregon has a sister town in Scotland called Dull. They even have an annual "Boring & Dull Day".
2. Wow. The Tillamook Cheese Factory produces 171,000 pounds of cheese each day.
