1. Maine: Where you won't be able to feel your face from January to March.
Sometimes it's more like October til April. If you want to know what it's like living in Maine, come in the dead of winter to get the true experience. Forget all about the sunny days of summer while eating a lobster roll and watching a lighthouse. This is where the real Maine resilience is made.
So it is safe to say that Maine winters can get cold. Anyone who spends most of January here will agree.

But at least it'll be pretty. And you can always enjoy the views from your heated car.
3. Maine: Where the color of your car isn't known between March and May.

4. Maine: Where residents prefer not to cross the state border.
But, when they do, there's nothing like the sight of this sign on the way back in.I even have a friend who will only leave the state for his job and never voluntarily leaves the Pine Tree State unless he absolutely has to. I also know he isn't alone.
5. Maine: Where there are more Subarus than people to drive them.
We bet you saw a Subaru in the last 24 hours.
6. Maine: The only state where you can go to Mexico and Poland in one day.
No need to correct the people who commend our world travels. It's not like we're lying. How else can we be such accomplished world travelers?

Pit parties and Allen's.

To be honest, WE don't drink this stuff.
10. Maine: Where adorable life-sized stuffed animals can literally kill you.

17. Maine: Where you might be bludgeoned by a snow-covered limb, but at least you had a chance to chat with a neighbor.
