The Completely Free Attraction Hiding Just Outside An Arkansas National Park Is A Must-Visit

Californians can claim bragging rights for their world-renown Hollywood Walk of Fame, but did you know that Arkansas has its very own Walk of Fame, too? Yes folks, it’s true, and it’s located on Central Avenue just outside Hot Springs National Park. It might not be a major landmark, but this free attraction in Arkansas is something that we recommend that you see. It pays homage to so many Arkansas natives who have made significant contributions in their careers. Read on to discover more about this Walk of Fame that should make all Arkansans proud.

Located right outside the Hot Springs Visitor Center, you’ll find the quaint Arkansas Walk of Fame, which is a series of plaques of famous Arkansans.

Only a block long, this landmark might be small, but don’t let that fool you, the names that you’ll see are certainly mighty.

Established in 1996, this Walk of Fame has everyone from presidents to scientists to authors to musicians to actors to sports stars, and more.

You’ll be familiar with many of the names including President Bill Clinton, poet/author Maya Angelou, singers Glen Campbell and Johnny Cash.

You might know Buddy Jewell, who recently got his plaque to commemorate all his musical accomplishments. There was even a free concert to celebrate his induction.

Unless you’ve been living on Mars, you’ve heard of the cartoon SpongeBob SquarePants and you should also know SpongeBob’s grumpy neighbor, Squidward.

Well, the Squidward voice actor, Arkansas native Rodger Bumpass, received his plaque a couple years ago, too.

While some of the people are still living, others have passed on, but it’s good to see that more Arkansas folks are getting their well-deserved flowers.

Of course, we don’t expect you to make a trip just to see this roadside attraction, you can totally spend the weekend in Hot Springs as there is plenty to see and do.

You’ll want to stop by the visitor center, stroll down the Historic Bathhouse Row, and of course, explore Hot Springs National Park.

There are lots of free things to do inside the park including hiking trails, lookout spots, thermal springs, swimming holes, and campsites.

I’ve said it before, the best things in life are free, so don’t hesitate to visit this free attraction in Arkansas. It will make you feel very proud!
