Ready for a very challenging hike with an amazing payoff? You will love the experience of getting to the summit of San Gorgonio Mountain, also known as Old Greyback. This peak is 11,503 feet tall. The mountain is located about 26 miles from Big Bear Lake, so if you want to see both, it’s a great way to combine seeing two of our region’s stunning natural sites in one weekend. You’ll definitely need some significant hiking experience for this trail, as it’s 19 miles long and will take you over 11 hours to complete. But it is absolutely worth it to see the unbelievable views from the top of the mountain.
On your way to the summit, you’ll get to see some beautiful nature, including forest trees that you won’t see in the cities.
