With so many amazing restaurants in Southern California, from famous Hollywood hangouts to new and trendy fusion, and literally everything in between, some of the best neighborhood spots are often unnoticed and underrated. But as the saying goes, if you know, you know. And when it comes to The Best Breakfast in Oxnard, CA, I know – and you should. The name literally says it all at this local diner.
The Best Breakfast restaurant is located in South Oxnard, and proudly declares itself to the neighborhood.
On weekends, you can expect to wait a bit for a table, but it is well worth it.
You won’t find any canned or pre-made food here. From the rich Hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict to the mouthwatering Chile Verde, everything is made from scratch, and you can tell. Oh, and the portions are huge.
For a savory breakfast, I cannot recommend the Chilaquiles more highly. Or fuel up for the day with one of the huge three-egg, stuffed to the gills, omelets. With an equally huge side of hash browns or home-fried potatoes, you may have to skip lunch!
If you prefer something sweet, or a combo, The Best Breakfast is known for its incredibly fluffy pancakes (in fact, I always order one on the side, regardless of my main dish) and French toast.
For a serious sweet tooth, order the gooey-gooey cinnamon roll or even cinnamon French toast!
Delicious is not limited to breakfast here. Lunches, especially the burgers and sandwiches, are as mouthwatering as the breakfasts. I absolutely love the Garlic Chicken Club sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries.
Inside, the restaurant feels like an old familiar country diner, with impeccable friendly service to match. You can grab a booth or a comfy seat at the counter. There are TVs scattered throughout, so if you are enjoying a meal solo, you can catch up on the news or a ball game.
This neighborhood icon is not overstating the facts with its name. It really does serve some of the absolute best breakfast in the area, and it is the perfect way to start a day trip to Oxnard.
