For those of us in South Dakota, the city is fine but the countryside is where it’s at. “It” being peace, joy and the best place to call home. They say a photo is worth a thousand words, and these photos are worth so much more. They prove, once and for all, that rural South Dakota is the best place to grow up.

1. If you live in rural SD, there's a good chance you live on a farm, which we all know is the best place to grow up.

2. And you have a an appreciation for places where old meets new.

4. There are daily opportunities to have contact with the ag industry.

5. You rode a horse before you were able to walk.

6. And sunset views like this are a daily occurance.

7. There's so much wildlife!

8. Not to mention, beautiful old barns filled with treasures.

9. And a whole bunch of farm cats.

10. Rural living means you can have your own chickens and farm fresh eggs.

11. Every morning is a beautiful morning in rural South Dakota.

12. The peace and beauty of living in the middle of nowhere is unbeatable.
