Peever. Gayville. Athol. You know about South Dakota and all of its weird, funny, and downright crazy town names but did you know that the Mount Rushmore State also has its fair share of bizarre street names? Can you think of any off the top of your head? We can, and they include:
According to the Reader's Digest's list of the Funniest Street Names in Every State, Rapid City's Kno Place (which houses the aptly named Kno Place Upholstery) takes the cake for South Dakota! I guess you can say that you will have kno luck on a street called Kno Place?
If you are a men's or child's slipper, you are out of luck in Sioux Falls, as the largest city in SoDak only has room for the Ladyslipper. Where do such crazy names come from? According to the Argus Leader, Sioux Falls often gets its street names from the home developers themselves.
Did you know that other capital cities like Denver have started killing geese and serving them to the homeless as a way to combat both overpopulation and city-wide hunger? That being said, geese will always have a free pass on Pierre's Goose Pass Road.
