We are blessed in South Carolina to have a never-ending list of enticing choices when it comes to dining out. And when you get an opportunity to combine a fantastic meal with an equally magnificent water view, it's hard to pass it up. Here's a great example:
Hudson's Seafood House on the Docks may be located on busy Hilton Head, but that doesn't rule out it being secluded. Part of it is even suspended over the water.
Begun as an oyster factory on Skull Creek in 1912, this restaurant got its start as a seafood processing plant. By 1967, the seafood business had opened a dining room and has been specializing in dishing up local seafood ever since.
You could argue that folks frequent Hudson's so much for the delicious seafood. Nothing beats the sweet, savory taste of shrimp fresh out of the water.
Or the Catch of the Day. In the photo below, it's pan roasted local swordfish, roasted sweet potatoes and asparagus on a bed of sweet corn cream.
Or maybe folks keep coming back for the chance to sit outside and eat in the fresh air.
(Although please do note that Hudson's does have plenty of indoor seating, too.)
Pair a gorgeous sunset with your favorite libation and a good meal - and that's about all you need for a happy ending to your day.
Have you been to this waterside restaurant in the Lowcountry? We'd love to know!
