The Tiny Town Of Landrum In South Carolina Has A Little Bit Of Everything

When you’re in need of a change of scenery, you won’t find a better place in which to retreat for the day or weekend than Landrum, South Carolina. With a tiny population of just over 2,500 friendly residents, Landrum is surprisingly well stocked with things to do including loads of antique shops, art galleries, restaurants, outdoor activities, historical spots to explore, and of course, restaurants with delicious food.

Located right on the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Byway, the winery pours wines by the glass or you can purchase a whole bottle to take home or enjoy on the spot. Also carve out some time to explore the wonderful sculpture garden as you take in the views of the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the winery's campus.
Spending the night? You won't find a more luxurious or cozy spot to hunker down on your trip to Landrum than at the Red Horse Inn.

The state's oldest remaining covered bridge, Campbell's Covered Bridge, is a wonderful spot to visit. Bring a picnic because you won't want to leave, especially on a beautiful afternoon.
Nearby, within a ten-minute drive of the covered bridge, is the state's oldest remaining stone bridge.

The 120-foot bridge was built in 1820 and includes a fantastic 16-foot-high gothic arch underneath. Vehicular traffic on the bridge was halted in the mid-1900s, and the bridge is now part of a preserve and park managed by Greenville County Parks.

Head over to the Blue Wall Nature Preserve, where trails provide some upclose views of the Blue Ridge escarpment, where the edge of the mountain range drops quickly with a steep, vertical wall-like appearance.
