You’ll find waterfall trails here ranging from just a few hundred yards to more than 70 miles long – and each one is stunning in its own way. Whatever name you want to give to it, this double waterfall is astoundingly impressive.
It consists of two distinct waterfalls that eventually converge into one.
The larger of the two falls (pictured on the left in this photo) is a 70-foot vertical drop over a stacked granite cliff, where it then runs nearly horizontal before joining the other falls in a meandering cascade further downstream.
The other waterfall cascades gracefully down a rocky passage several yards to the right of the vertical waterfall. If you want to see them in person (who wouldn't?), access to the falls can be gained through a couple of trails on a nature preserve.
The shortest trail is 0.7 miles in length. This easy-going hike is more of a walk than a workout.
At an easy pace, the hike into the falls takes approximately 10-15 minutes among some nice foliage on a well-marked trail that begins at the end of a gravel road.
Downstream from the falls there is even more to see!
Once you read the waterfalls, more adventurous hikers can take an additional path that leads to the top of the falls. It's very strenuous and only recommended for skilled hikers.
