Grab Some Bait, Made-From-Scratch Biscuits, And Play Disc Golf At This Awesome Spot In South Carolina
Some small towns have the neatest places, such as in Awendaw, a small fishing town in Charleston County with a population of less than 2,000 people. On the stretch of Highway 17 running through Awendaw, you’ll pass the Sewee Outpost where you can stop for gas, clean restrooms … and so much more! It’s truly a hidden gem in South Carolina.
There’s a freezer stocked with all kinds of goodies including local meats, veggies, desserts, and of course the famous cheese biscuits, so you can get some to enjoy later, too!
In addition to items you would find at any convenience store, the Sewee Outpost also offers a full line of hunting and fishing supplies, bait, marine hardware, sunglasses, ammunition, cast iron cookware, and a huge selection of casual wear including brands such as Aftco, Carhartt, Columbia Sportswear, Mountain Khakis, and Rainbow.
There's a disc golf course here that's private but shared with friends. With any non-fuel store purchase of at least $5, guests can play as long as they like for the day.
Being located near Garris Landing (3 miles), Buck Hall Landing (12 miles) on the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Chandler Road Landing on the Upper Wando River (3 miles), secured boat storage is also offered, available behind the store.
South Carolina has been home for AnneMarie since 2001. Her favorite part of the state is Lake Jocassee. An App State alumna, it's always the mountains; the lake bonus makes it heavenly. When not writing about the state, she may be spending time with family, relaxing by the pool, or out somewhere enjoying nature.
