How often do you have something served to you at a restaurant that’s really just too pretty to eat, like a work of art? That’s exactly what you’ll find at Santa Fe Cafe, where you can get Painted Desert Soup, one of the most beautiful dishes and best soups in South Carolina.
Santa Fe Cafe is located on the main road through Hilton Head Island, William Hilton Parkway.
It’s an eatery popular among locals for its authentic Southwestern cuisine.
Every year, the decor inside is updated for a fresh look and to keep the atmosphere welcoming and interesting. There's a space upstairs that's smaller and more intimate.
Its climate-controlled rooftop cantina is the most popular dining spot throughout the year, with a kiva fireplace making it a romantic and inviting space.
So if you're looking for a special atmosphere such as the rooftop cantina or dining space upstairs, you'll want to inquire about requesting one of those areas when you make your reservation!
The famous painted desert soup is often recommended by locals to island guests. It’s not only beautiful, but delicious, too, made from red pepper, corn, Mexican cream, and mole sauce, which is emblematic of Mexican cuisine and normally made from cocoa, dried chilli peppers, and corn.
The design may vary slightly from bowl-to-bowl, but the taste is consistent.
Here it’s served as a part of a lunch trio rather than as an entree.
If you want to start with an appetizer, we recommend the Chile Con Queso, which includes tasty warm, mild cheese dip with chips and salsa.
There are plenty of other options on the menu as well if you’d rather have something besides or in addition to soup, such as these cranberry chipotle lamb chops. YUM!
Other menu favorites include the guacamole, ribeye burrito, and cowboy cut ribeye.
And how about some churros for dessert?!
Whether meeting friends for lunch, a special someone for date night, or eating here while on vacation it’s a fabulous choice!
