McDowell's Emporium is an entire little house that's been converted into the most adventurous book labyrinth in the state.
The entire house is filled with bookshelves overflowing with a bevy of books to choose from.
McDowell's Emporium specializes in used, out-of-print, and select new editions. Local and regional author works are found in abundance, also.
In fact, don't be surprised if you wander in and find a local or regional author in the store signing copies.

The used books in the store are all neatly arranged, and the shelves have labeling making your preferred genre easy to locate.

Occasionally, McDowell's does a big sale out on the lawn. If you drive up and find tables of books out front, you've struck gold and should be prepared to drive home with a back seat full of bargains you can't pass up.
