Travel To This Charming Small Town In South Carolina For A Main Street Meal You Won’t Soon Forget
Most foodies know that dining out isn’t only about the food: it’s about the experience. What better way is there to enjoy a dining experience than with a front row seat on Main Street in one of the most underrated and charming small towns in South Carolina?
Although Sumter is technically the eighth largest city in the state (in terms of population living within the city limits), her small town charm shines through in a revitalized Main Street that's lined with trees, plazas, terraces, and an upbeat vibe.
Any meal on Main can be a follow up to a leisurely stroll on the picturesque brick-lined sidewalks and any number of points to stop and enjoy the scenery. But there is one restaurant, in particular, that seems to have all of the above — and more.
Lovely views of Sumter's Centennial Plaza, the clock, and the plaza's famous Sumter fountain wall across the street are abundant from the perfectly placed outdoor seating at J. O'Grady's on the plaza.
J. O’Grady’s is located at 5 S Main St., Sumter, SC 29150. It’s open for lunch and dinner six days a week (closed Sundays). The hours are Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Saturday, all day, from 11:31 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Learn more on their Facebook page.
