The Honky Tonk Saloon In South Carolina Is Off The Beaten Path But So Worth The Journey
What’s the difference, really, between a bar and saloon? Surprisingly, there are a few little-thought-of distinctions. For instance, the noun ‘bar’ came about to describe the establishment that served drinks over a, you guessed it, bar. Bars came about in the 16th century.
Saloons, on the other hand, didn’t evolve until nearly two hundred years later. Their name, at the time, meant a great big hall where gatherings were held. Well, that’s still the case with saloons, even though they are far and few between in South Carolina these days.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
Take the College Park Road exit off Interstate 26 near Ladson and go west. Get your honky tonk on at South Carolina’s premier spot for country music nightlife: The Honky Tonk Saloon.
Address: HonkyTonk Saloon, 192 College Park Rd, Ladson, SC 29456, USA
