With its towering trees and iconic architecture, Charleston, South Carolina is one of the most beautiful towns in the United States.
One of the first things you must do in Charleston is take a horse-drawn carriage tour through the city's historic district. If the historic district isn't your cup of tea, haunted carriage tours are also offered.
These tours are an excellent way to see the city's amazing architecture while learning from the very knowledgeable tour guides.
Next, be sure to walk along the Battery while taking in the amazing views. Once used as a defensive seawall, the historic landmark now hosts beautiful homes along the Charleston Harbor.
In the nearby White Point Garden, attractions include military monuments and beautiful oak trees. Spend some time looking out over the Harbor where you can see Fort Sumter, sailboats, and even bottle nose dolphins!
The Charleston City Market is another must-see. Located in the historic district, the hall features tons of local art shops and food stands. It is truly a perfect place to sample everything Charleston has to offer.
The Magnolia Plantation is Charleston's most visited plantation for a reason. The land features incredible gardens, and a variety of tours, including a popular tram tour.
