The Bluffton Boiled Peanut Festival takes over the town with a peanut parade, a peanut cook-off contest, and an annual unveiling of the largest boiled peanut in the world!
Only during the festival, does the world’s largest peanut roll out of hiding for all to enjoy and capture on film. Make sure to bring your camera and snap a picture in front!
Clocking in at 22 feet long and weighing nearly a half-ton, this gargantuan peanut was built in 2013 for the purpose of the festival.
Made of plywood and spray foam, the peanut is usually hidden from view most of the year but gets wheeled out for the annual September fest. Sometimes, you may even catch the peanut making an appearance at the local farmers' market!
