One Of The Most Beautiful Restaurants In America, The Clarke Cooke House, Is Right Here In Rhode Island
While a beautiful setting isn’t exactly a requirement for restaurant dining, it certainly doesn’t hurt. For example, the Clarke Cooke House has been called, among many other things, the most sophisticated restaurant in Newport and one of the top 10 outdoor dining spots in America. And while we don’t dispute any of those claims, it’s the mouthwatering cuisine that keeps people coming back for more.

Way back in 1780, a wealthy Newport sea captain named Clarke Cooke (of course) opened what is now the Blues Cafe, before eventually moving from Thames Street.

Locals and tourists alike love to stop in for a drink or a meal.

Celebrities, yachting stars, and even royalty have dined here.

The Clarke Cooke House serves an array of delightful delicacies, both local and exotic.

Enjoying the Clarke Cooke House is sometimes called the quintessential Newport experience, and we wouldn't dispute that claim.

In addition to being a total historic treasure, it's a fascinating part of our history.
