The Frosty Drew Observatory was opened in 1988 as a way to allow the public better access to astronomy. You may not be able to touch the stars at this spot, but they seem close enough to reach out and grab.
The observatory has a fully automated, high-powered 16" Meade LX200 Schmidt Cassegrain telescope surrounded by a viewing platform. Take a peek to reveal some spectacular sights.
A key to the observatory is its prime location. The sky above is extremely dark (perhaps the darkest between New York and Boston) and shows off the stars perfectly.
