Rhode Island might be small, but what it lacks in open space, it makes up for in beauty. There are dozens of fantastic options for enjoying gorgeous nature sights all over. While we've covered a lot of them in previous posts, we thought we'd condense them into yet another amazing Rhody Road Trip. Here are eight fantastic natural wonders of Rhode Island to visit on your next day of driving and exploring.

Our trip will begin with Stepstone Falls in Arcadia Management Area and wrap up at lovely Sakonnet Point in Little Compton. Bonus tip: plan your arrival at the final destination around dusk to enjoy one of the most beautiful places to watch the sunset in the state.

1. Stepstone Falls, West Greenwich
While Arcadia Management Area is filled with wonderful natural attractions, many would agree that Stepstone Falls is the most lovely. Find this gorgeous waterfall in West Greenwich.
2. Misquamicut Beach, Westerly
Misquamicut Beach in Westerly is likely the number one choice for Rhode Island residents during beach weather. With amazing sunsets and lots of stunning open space, this makes for a wonderful place to spend a day exploring. Did you also know that Misquamicut Beach is the longest beach in Rhode Island?
3. Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge, Charlestown
The diverse upland and wetland landscapes of Ninigret National Wildlife Refuge make for a one-of-a-kind experience. The refuge is situated along Ninigret Pond, adding to its beauty. It's certainly one of the best natural wonders to explore in the state.
4. Kettle Pond, Charlestown
Located in close proximity to Ninigret Refuge is Kettle Pond. Also known as Watchaug Pond, this place offers everything from great swimming, fishing, boat ramps, and more. Visit the South County RI website to learn more about the Kettle Pond Visitors Center in Charlestown.
5. Marsh Meadows Wildlife Preserve, Jamestown
Our road trip brings us to Conanicut Island next. The marshland found here is definitely one of the best of Rhode Island's natural wonders to behold! 6. Beavertail State Park, Jamestown
Also on beautiful Conanicut Island is our next natural wonder. The more than 150 acres of Beavertail State Park are full of amazing views of the ocean, rocky cliffs to explore, and a historic lighthouse. This place is a wonderful park to spend your day sunbathing and scouting out sea creatures. And it certainly deserves a spot on this road trip to some of the most incredible natural wonders in Rhode Island.
7. Cliff Walk, Newport
This stunning 3.5-mile scenic walk found in Newport is by far one of the most amazing experiences to be had in the state. And some of the best views in Rhode Island can be taken in from the Cliff Walk.
8. Sakonnet Point, Little Compton
The charming small town of Little Compton is home to one of the best natural wonders in Rhode Island. Sakonnet Point is a breathtaking beach with picturesque views of the harbor and a historic lighthouse in the distance.
