Take This Hidden Gems Road Trip When You Want To See Some Little-Known Places In Rhode Island
Rhode Island may be small, but that doesn’t mean that all of its best spots are well known. In fact, we have a lot of awesome hidden gems in Rhode Island just waiting to be discovered. From shops to lighthouses and natural wonders, this road trip only requires an hour and 24 minutes of driving and will take you to some of the state’s best, but most unknown sights. Use this map to lead the way!

Fantastic Umbrella Factory, 4820 Old Post Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813, USA

We will begin our trip with a stop at the Fantastic Umbrella Factory. In the warm weather, the gardens bloom with a variety of perennials that are utterly awe inspiring. However, even in the off seasons, this complex of buildings has fun grounds to wander, animals to visit, and a multitude of shops from which to buy anything you can imagine. Offering range from local sundries to handmade pottery.
Point Judith, Narragansett, RI 02882, USA

Our next stop is Point Judith, a small cape off the coast of Narragansett. This adorable village often gets overlooked as it is the location where the Block Island ferry sets out, but Point Judith has much more to offer than that. Gaze at the gorgeous lighthouse, visit the fisherman's memorial, or just wander around taking in the gorgeous ocean views and soaking up some sea air.
Wickford Village, 1 Main St, North Kingstown, RI 02852, USA

Just a 20 minute drive from Point Judith is Wickford village. This village was originally founded in the 1600s, and to this day retains a large amount of its old world charm. Stroll the streets dotted with delightful shops and restaurants, and make sure to check out the harbor for views of ships. There is even a historical walking tour you can download right on your phone to teach you more about the village.
Windmill Hill, Jamestown, RI 02835, USA

Your shortest drive yet is the 11 minutes to this gorgeous area in Jamestown. Windmill Hill historic District is mostly made up of awe inspiring rolling hills and pastures. When you encounter the windmill you will feel as though you've stepped into a pastoral painting of times long gone by.
The Bells / The Reef, Newport, RI 02840, USA

End your day admiring the remains of a once great mansion that are waiting to be discovered in Brenton Point State park. The Bells was built originally in 1876, and all that remains now is the slowly crumbling stable. While the grounds are not safe, even admiring these ruins from afar is a truly inspiring experience.
What a great way to spend a day seeing a lot without too much driving time to dull down your fun! Which of these sights do you think is the most intriguing? Are there any hidden gems in Rhode Island that you think we missed? Maybe you can find them on this list.
