Warm weather means there is so much to do that we need to write down our plans, or we might miss out on something amazing. One of my favorite warm-weather adventures is going to a local farm that offers some type of pick-your-own because nothing smells as sweet as fresh flowers and tastes as good as berries picked straight from the bush. For some of the best berry picking in Rhode Island, plan a visit to this family-friendly farm in Scituate.
Stroll through the fields of Harmony Farms in Scituate, where you can fill basket after basket with the freshest blueberries in Rhode Island.
Be ready to walk away with buckets full of deliciousness and blueberry-stained hands.
The blueberry season at this family-friendly farm generally runs from the beginning of July through August, which gives you plenty of time to plan your visit.
Promising a fun summer outing for the whole family, the blueberry fields are handicap accessible and, if you call ahead of time, the farm will arrange parking.
While there's no admission fee to the blueberry fields, you will have to pre-pay for a pint of blueberries. If you pick more than a pint, you'll just pay for the additional blueberries afterward.
Once you've pre-paid, grab your bucket and start picking. The farm's owners encourage taste-testing a few blueberries to make sure you're happy with the taste and the ripeness before filling your bucket.
If you pick 10 pounds of blueberries, you'll automatically be enrolled in the loyalty program that features such benefits as not having to pre-pay for a pint.
Blueberry picking days and hours are weather-dependent. Visit the Facebook page of this blueberry farm in Rhode Island before you visit, especially if it's raining, to make sure picking is available that day.

After picking blueberries, you’ve probably worked up a bit of an appetite. Grab a tasty bite at Cindy’s Diner, an old-school restaurant in Scituate, Rhode Island that serves some of the best fish and chips around.
