Rhode Island is known as the Ocean State, and our state beaches and small hidden gems are second to none. That being said, Rhody also has some other natural wonders that don’t always get enough love, including some beautiful waterfalls. And while it might not seem like a state as small as ours isn’t harboring many secrets, plenty of locals don’t know about hidden gems like Albion Falls.

Albion Falls is part of Albion Dam, which is located just outside of Cumberland in Providence County.

Albion is a village and historic district in Lincoln, with the Blackstone River flowing through it.
One of the easiest ways to access the waterfall is through Blackstone River State Park.

There's a beautiful woodland trail that will take you right to it.
Blackstone River State Park is often used for walking, biking, and fishing when the season allows.

And during the fall, it's decked out in beautiful, rich foliage.

That mill is now a condo complex, but the dam is still here.
Rhode Island doesn't have the enormous, towering waterfalls you'll see in other spots, including some of our surrounding states.

However, the falls we do have are pretty fantastic. They're all surrounded by stunning scenery.
We're not sure why Albion Falls and the surrounding area tend to stay under the radar, but we certainly aren't complaining.
