Follow the yellow brick road… follow the yellow brick road… right to Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, for an epic installment of the Vandergrift Artfest, a popular annual event that draws visitors from all over the state and beyond. This art festival in Pennsylvania promises a jam-packed day of fun for festival-goers of all ages. This is one Pennsylvania festival you don’t want to miss, especially if you’re a fan of The Wizard of Oz.

A magical day of old-fashioned fun, fascinating artwork, and good eats awaits at the 16th Annual Vandergrift Artfest, slated for Sunday, July 30, 2023 from noon to 9 p.m.

Sporting the theme “Beyond The Yellow Brick Road,” downtown Vandergrift will transform into a real-life version of the yellow brick road.

The popular Pennsylvania festival features five different zones – The Art Gallery, the Food Court, the Main Stage, the Marketplace, and the Palette Project. Chances are you’ll want to spend the entire day at the festival because there is a lot to see, do, and eat.

Local food trucks will also be on hand, so bring a hearty appetite with you.

In addition to visiting each of the Artfest zones, check out the long list of artists, crafters, and vendors in the downtown area. Two stages, which will hosts performing artists, will provide the soundtrack for the day’s events.

If you’re an aspiring or a seasoned artist, share your work with festival-goers. Artfest will also host a special art show in 2023.

While the festival is still a few months away, plenty of activity is already underway. Volunteer and sponsorship opportunities are available. Performer, art show, and palette artist applications, among others, are currently open.

September in Pennsylvania is usually pretty busy, as we bid farewell to summer and start to make all of our autumn plans. It's also a month jam-packed with epic festivals. One of the most treasured annual festivals, the PA Heritage Festival in Pennsylvania, which celebrates the history of PA, returns each September. The weekend is jam-packed with fun, including Civil War reenactments and demonstrations. Bring the kiddos along, too, to give them a peek at the past and to enjoy the full menu of kids' activities.

The PA Heritage Festival returns to Alparon Park in Troy on Sept. 21-22, 2024. The free admission festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.

Parking is also free.

The family-friendly festival brings the history of PA to life through demonstrations and a tour of the Heritage Village and Farm Museum. The village is home to a schoolhouse, a doctor's office, a children's church, and a sugar house.

Spend some time exploring the Farm Museum, too, where you'll get a glimpse of farming artifacts that date back 200 years.

During the heritage festival in Pennsylvania, you can also check out the village's newest exhibits - a silo and windmill.
