You've got two ways to explore the unique rock formations tucked along the Hammonds Rocks Trail in Michaux State Forest. The easiest is to park on Ridge Road, which leads to Hammonds Rocks Vista.
Even if you're not bouldering, wear a pair of sturdy shoes. The trail features varied terrain, including a brief bit of pavement. The majority of the terrain, however, is dirt and gravel.
While you'll pass colorful flowers, mushrooms, and even local wildlife - keep an eye out for frogs - the highlight of the trail is, undoubtedly, the rock formations.
