A dusting of snow transforms Love Park in Philadelphia into a winter wonderland that draws locals and visitors from afar for its annual German Christmas Village each holiday season.

The holiday village, which is free, generally runs from mid-November through Christmas Eve, giving you plenty of time to block off an hour or so for a visit.

An authentic German market complete with wooden vendor stalls, the German Christmas Village usually features dozens of vendors. You might even be able to finish your Christmas shopping.

The market is about so much more than shopping, however, so carve out enough time for your visit. A full menu of events, from wine tasting to storytime, is also planned.

Keep an eye on the calendar, too, so the kiddos can pose for photos and share their Christmas wishes with Santa. Phil the Reindeer, the village mascot, will also be on hand on select days.
