Carve Pumpkins And Make Scarecrows At The Fall Festival At Pine Grove Furnace State Park In Pennsylvania
Whip out that fall calendar! We’re already into October, and before we know it, we’ll be heading out for an evening of trick or treating (or handing out candy to the trick or treaters). Between now and then, we’ve got a ton of fun, family-friendly activities to fit into an already jam-packed calendar. This free fall festival in Pennsylvania promises two days of fun activities the whole family will love.
Pine Grove Furnace State Park, in Gardners, is the place to be the weekend of October 19-20, 2019 for the Fall Furnace Fest.
Bring the kiddos for a scenic ride on a fall hayride – free, of course – and watch such historical demonstrations as blacksmithing and charcoal making.
Those demonstrations will probably get everyone in the mood to create for themselves, right? Carve a pumpkin and make your own scarecrow, perfect decorations for the season.
Take a break with a snack or a meal from one of the food vendors. Grab a seat to listen to the live entertainment while you eat. (Craft vendors will also be on hand during the festival.)
A pumpkin parade is also scheduled for October 19 at 6:15 p.m. Stick around afterward for the telling of the "Legend of Harry Hand" and a pumpkin float along Fuller Lake.
