This Easy Oregon Hike Is Less Than A Mile And Takes You Straight To A Hidden Waterfall

Oregon is home to more than 200 waterfalls. While each has its own unique beauty, some require long, strenuous hikes in order to view their splendor. Here’s a hike that’s just 0.4 miles long each way, and you won’t believe the hidden waterfall you’ll find at the end.

To reach the trailhead, take Toketee-Rigdon Road off Highway 138 in the Umpqua National Forest.

The trail is less than a half mile each way, but even though this one won't take long to complete, you'll want to leave plenty of time to stop and gawk at the scenery as you go.

This short, sweet hike takes you through a fairytale forest that's so lush and green that you'll never want to leave.

The North Umpqua River is your constant companion. You'll see it from several overlooks, and enjoy its pleasant babbling even when it's not in view.

Before you reach the end of the trail, you'll see this punchbowl broiling and swirling in the river.

While this hike is rated as easy and only has about a 100-foot elevation gain, you will need to be able to navigate a tall staircase...

...and some shorter stone steps that are laid out along the way. In total, you'll navigate more than 200 stairs.

...one of Oregon's best waterfalls. Toketee Falls cascades down the basalt cliffs in two tiers. The first tier drops 40 feet and the second drops 80 feet.

You'll definitely want your camera for this little hike. The waterfall is so picturesque that it's often the site of marriage proposals. How could you possibly say no in a place this gorgeous?
