Tucked Away In An Oklahoma Forest, The Rock House Is A Gorgeous Restaurant With Unforgettable Food

The Rock House is a picturesque restaurant in Oklahoma's Ouachita National Forest, known for its stunning views and high-quality, free-range cuisine.

The Ouachita National Forest covers 1.8 million acres in both southeastern Oklahoma and central Arkansas. It's the oldest national forest in the southern United States, and it is both beautiful and rich in local history. It's also where you'll find The Rock House, one of Oklahoma's most gorgeous restaurants that happens to serve fantastic food. This is a destination eatery you'll want to experience.

To reach The Rock House, we highly recommend taking the Talimena Scenic Drive.

This 54-mile stretch of road is breathtaking in any season.

You'll find The Rock House a few miles north of Talihina, on Blackjack Ridge Drive.

The restaurant is inside an old farmhouse made of, unsurprisingly, rocks. And it happens to sit in the center of a 283-acre rural property, so it's perfectly peaceful.

The Rock House opened in 2012 after owners Sam and Tami Balzanna dreamed of opening it for decades.

If you happen to snag an outdoor table, you can watch the family's horses graze in the pastures in the distance.

Of course, being seated inside the casually elegant dining room is equally as wonderful.

No matter where you sit, you'll be treated to views of the Kiamichi Mountain Range, the Potato Hills, and Buffalo Mountain.

Steaks are definitely the main attraction here, and if you order one, you will not be disappointed.

All of the meat and seafood served at The Rock House is free-range and free of antibiotics and growth hormones.

Whether you decide on New York Strip Steak, Filet Mignon Au Poivre, or the popular Surf & Turf, you'll be impressed.

And if you're not a fan of steak, you'll have your choice of anything from Chicken Alfredo to pork chops or Maryland crab cakes.

This is one place where you'll want to say yes to dessert (even if you're full).

Deciding between the homemade carrot cake and the créme brûlée is no easy task.

The Rock House serves dinner on Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 9 p.m.

Reservations are highly recommended, which you can make easily by calling (918) 567-3577.
