People Are Coming From Miles Away To Visit This Tiny Town In Oklahoma
In the small town of Pawhuska where only 3,500 residents reside, there’s a new place on the block that’s attracting over 6,000 visitors to town every day. The Pioneer Woman Mercantile just opened in late 2016 and it’s already our new favorite place. It’s located in Downtown Pawhuska in a restored brick building and has everything from gifts and home decor to food and pastries.
The Pioneer Woman Mercantile is located at 532 Kihekah Avenue, Pawhuska, OK. The Mercantile is owned by Ree Drummond also known as The Pioneer Woman - a famous Oklahoma blogger, television personality, author, food writer, cook and photographer.
The Drummonds recently bought a historic building in Downtown Pawhuska (just outside their ranch) and turned it into The Mercantile. Rarely will you see it without a line out the door. With over 6,000 visitors a day, be prepared for a wait.
But the wait is worth it! The Mercantile consists of a general store, bakery and deli. The store is filled with Southern charm and there's plenty to do to keep you busy all day.
Plan on spending several hours at The Mercantile. It's not easy to get in and out of in a quick amount of time. Everything you pass by will catch your eye and you'll spend hours admiring (and buying) all the merchandise.
It's the perfect place to go for an afternoon adventure with the girlfriends. You can check out the cute town of Pawhuska, then eat a delicious meal in the deli after shopping.
Make sure you try the sandwich named after her husband Ladd also known as Marlboro Man - The Marlboro Man Sandwich. It's an incredible sandwich filled with flavorful meat cooked to perfection.
