Hammett House in Claremore has been in business since 1969 and has become one of the go-to spots in Oklahoma for homemade pies. You can order them by the slice or if you call ahead the day before you can order a whole pie.
The dessert menu has 12 different pies on the menu ranging from Lemon Pecan to German Chocolate.
They also serve what is called Delights which are cast iron skillets filled with one of their warm pies and topped with vanilla ice cream and a brandy butter sauce.
All the locals know this is the place to visit if you want a home-cooked meal and fresh, homemade pies like grandma used to make.
Other pie offerings include coconut cream, apple, double-crust blueberry, sour cream raisin, and more. Seasonal specialties last year included pumpkin, lemon meringue, southern-style pecan pie, and more.
