Spill Way Loop Trail is a four-mile loop trail in Beavers Bend State Park. The trailhead and parking lot are located at the spillway, so take Beavers Bend State Park Road until you come to the spillway bridge.

The trail is a four-mile loop and is rated as moderate. It is a family-friendly trail but not suitable for young children or strollers since you'll have to traverse some rocky terrain.

The hike will take you about two hours to complete and will lead you to this gorgeous babbling brook where the sounds of rushing water over the rocks will relax you in the best way possible.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can climb on the rocks or even go swimming in the river.

We recommend you take the trail about halfway to the bridge and then turn around and go back the same way you came in. If you take the loop, the last half mile of the trail is along a busy road and not very safe for children.

The trail is a mix of tree and river views. There are some steep, rocky parts on the trail so we highly recommend you wear hiking boots and not just tennis shoes.

One of the best things about this trail is the epic views. It's without question, one of the best river trails you'll find in the state. The sounds of the rushing water are so peaceful, that you may just never want to leave.

Beavers Bend State Park does have a parking pay station where you’ll need to pay at the machine or utilize the “text to pay” option.

Another fun activity to do with the family in Beavers Bend is the 20-minute train ride through the park. You will wind your way through the natural forest area to Wahoo Hill in Beavers Bend State Park and enjoy nature on all sides.
