The holiday season is now in full swing and cities and towns across Oklahoma are transforming into a beautiful winter wonderland. In Oklahoma, we have a myriad of ways to enjoy the Christmas season. In addition to neighborhood light displays, we have huge events such as the Rhema Lights in Tulsa and Christmas in the Park in Yukon that helps get us in the holiday spirit. Another amazing Christmas event that you probably have not have heard of before is Crystal Christmas in Woodward, featuring over 2 million lights, train rides, and so much more.
Crystal Christmas opens nightly at 6 p.m. and runs through December 31. Make sure to plan a trip with the whole family. Thursdays and Fridays are family nights that feature special activities like train rides and live nativity scenes.
The event has lots to offer but the star of the show is always "the lights." The night sky is lit up with more than 2 million lights and it truly is a sight to behold.
Another highlight of Crystal Christmas for many folks (especially the kiddos) is of course the train ride with Santa. It's a perfect way to see all the lights without walking.
Besides Santa, the Grinch has also been known to make an appearance and he loves to take pictures. It's a great memory for years to come and always a kid favorite.
Don't worry about feeding everyone before you arrive as there are numerous food trucks on-site. Whether you are in the mood for barbecue or tacos or something else, we are sure you won't leave hungry.
With this many lights, it is the countless hours of volunteers that really make this place light up. Be sure to thank them when you see them working tirelessly into the night.
