You’ll Have Loads Of Fun At These 8 Pick-Your-Own Fruit Farms In Oklahoma
If you love fresh fruit, then you have to visit a pick-your-own fruit farm in Oklahoma. You will not only get the freshest fruit around but you’ll be supporting local farmers, too. Take a look at these eight farms in the Sooner State where you’ll have loads of fun picking your own fruit.
During these uncertain times, please keep safety in mind and consider adding destinations to your bucket list to visit at a later date.
1. Buffalo Creek Berry Farm - Mustang
Berry Creek is a solely owned and operated Pick-Your-Own Berry/Produce farm in Central Oklahoma. Regular season hours are as follows: Tuesday and Thursday from 5-8 p.m. and Sunday from 2-7 p.m. Fridays may be available for appointments. Location: 9211 Sloan Rd., Mustang, OK.
2. Gibson Gardens - Bixby
Gibson Gardens is known for their vine-ripened, flavor-packed "Heirloom and Beefsteak Tomatoes." You can pick-your-own delicious strawberries and blackberries on select dates in the garden or find them at several farmers markets. Location: 18406 S. 73rd. E. Ave., Bixby, OK.
3. Maple Creek Berry Farm - Poteau
Maple Creek has planted over 2,000 blueberry plants of various varieties. They provide everything needed for picking, including take-home bags. They will open for the 2018 season in summer, so be ready to eat the best blueberries you've ever tasted. Location: 33423 Pleasant Valley Rd., Poteau, OK.
4. Wind Drift Orchards - Harrah
Enjoy beautiful, delicious peaches at this easy-to-pick orchard. Wind Drift offers two orchards with a variety of peaches and nectarines for picking during the peach season. Opening date for the 2018 season is still to be determined. Location: 19400 N.E. 63rd St. and 18499 N.E. 50th St., Harrah, OK.
5. Berry Creek Farm - Blanchard
Pick-your own strawberries, peaches or grapes at this certified organic farm. You will find many other fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs and meat available for purchase. Location: 2021 S. Tyler Ave., Blanchard, OK.
6. Thunderbird Berry Farm - Broken Arrow
Thunderbird is a family owned and operated farm where you can pick your own fruits and vegetables. You can find asparagus, cucumbers, strawberries, sweet corn, blueberries, and blackberries. You can also buy fresh eggs, honey, jam, and frozen berries during the non-harvest season. They open for the season on will open for the season on Saturday, May 26, 2018. Location: 7515 S. 321st E. Ave., Broken Arrow, OK.
7. Wild Things Farm - Pocola
Pick-your-own strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries or pick-up other fruits and vegetables all ready to go at Wild Things Farm. They also have many events and activities to enjoy while visiting the farm. They are now open for strawberry picking Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. -6 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. -4 p.m. Location: 700 Beaty, Pocola, OK.
8. Livesay Orchard - Porter
Porter, Oklahoma, is the "Official Peach Capital of Oklahoma" and you can find some of the best peaches in the state at Livesay Orchard. Pick your own apples, peaches, and pumpkins during the season. Pick-your-own is open on select days from mid-June thru October. Location: 39232 E. 231st St. S., Porter, OK.
