Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge often gets overlooked when nature lovers are looking for outdoor adventures. But, if you’re looking for a hidden natural gem in Oklahoma that’s not overcrowded and has a beautiful boardwalk trail overlooking the bottomland hardwood forest, keep scrolling to learn more about this beautiful refuge.
Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge is located in northeastern Oklahoma in Okmulgee. The refuge is free to visit and is open year-round. Fees may apply for hunting and fishing so please check in at the refuge office upon arrival for more information.
The Cussetah Bottoms Boardwalk Trail is a 1.4-mile loop trail that takes you out on a beautiful boardwalk and along the bottomland hardwood forest in the refuge.
