What are some other hidden gems in Ohio?

Here in Ohio, we’ve got some pretty odd roadside attractions. When embarking on a road trip through Ohio, it’s easy to come across these places that offer the perfect opportunity to get out and stretch your legs. From giant objects you can see from the road to unusual backyard museums, we have it all here in the Buckeye State. The next time you are in the mood for something unusual or you’re wondering about some weird places in Ohio, here are 14 bizarre roadside attractions in Ohio that will likely make you do a double take.

What's the most bizarre roadside attraction in Ohio?

While there are certainly some crazy roadside attractions in Ohio, there's one up in Newark that takes the cake. In this small town in central Ohio sits a seven-story, 180,000-square-foot basket. Yes, basket. It's the world's largest basket and the former headquarters for the Longaberger Company. This behemoth basket building along State Route 16 in Newark is a novelty piece of architecture you have to see to believe. After the company shut down, the future of the basket hung in the balance. It has since been purchased and there are plans to reuse the structure in a unique way; during select times, you can even tour this record-breaking basket!

What are some more of the "world's largest" things in Ohio?

Ohio holds many a world record for the "world's largest" things, including: the world's largest rocking chair in Austinburg, the world's largest washboard (that's in Logan), the world's largest basket (see the above question for more on this quirky one!), the world's largest basket of apples (yes -- Ohio doesn't simply have the title of the "world's largest basket;" we also lay claim to the world's largest basket of apples!), and the world's largest stamp, which you'll find in Cleveland. Did you know about all of these Ohio records? How cool, right?!
