You can practically drive right up to these falls, which are located less than an a quarter of a mile away from the designated parking area.
Here’s why you’ll want to visit this one-of-a-kind park the next time you’re in the area:
Welcome to Paine Falls Park, a beautiful little valley that's home to a majestic waterfall and part of the Lake Metroparks system.
The waterfall and park are named after Edward Paine, the founder of Painesville. By the 1850s, the surrounding town known as "Paine's Hollow" fell into decline. In 1974, the park was established.
You can view the falls from an observation deck that's just a short 0.12-mile walk from the parking lot. The park's official hours are 6 a.m. - 11 p.m.
