This Oft-Overlooked Beach Town In Ohio Is The Perfect Place For Your Next Vacation
Contrary to what you might think, Ohio is home to some really beautiful
waterfront towns. The small town of Huron is a gorgeous lakeside town that’s somewhat of a hidden gem to Ohioans not from the area. If you find yourself in northern Ohio this summer, you need to take a day and visit this quaint Lake Erie town.

With just a little more than 7,000 residents, it's a quaint place to call home
With several parks, boating culture and public beaches, there's plenty of outdoor recreation here.
Andrew L. Fabens Memorial Park features several baseball/softball fields, batting cages, a nature trail, playground and so much more.
The Huron Boat Basin Marina and Amphitheater is one of the state's most unique music venues.
There's always something happening at the boat basin, which you can find at 330 N. Main Street.
You'll definitely want to visit Nickel Plate Beach will you're here. It's one of Ohio's best little-known Lake Erie beaches that's perfect for a quiet beach day.
You'll find it on Nickel Plate Drive, just off of Tiffin Avenue. Note: There is a $5 parking fee and Beach Water Quality Testing is conducted by Erie County Health Department, with results posted on Erie County Health Department Beach Monitoring website under "Huron River East."
With lighthouses that were initially built in the mid-1800s, the small city of Huron prides itself in its Great Lakes history.
The Mile Long Fishing Pier and Huron Lighthouse is a must-see where you're in town.

It's located at N. Center St. and is open from dawn to dusk.
