It features a stunning gorge, an abundance of waterfalls and even a charming mill and restaurant along the way. The next time you need a weekend adventure or a day trip idea, consider hiking the loop trail at Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve.

Right by John Bryan State Park, you'll find Clifton Gorge. It follows the course of the Little Miami River, making it a beautiful hiking destination.

It's located on OH-343 in Yellow Springs, Ohio.
The loop trail, also known as the Pittsburgh-Cincinnati Stagecoach Trail, cuts through limestone gorge and follows interesting pieces of Ohio's past, which you can read about along the way.

The 4.4-mile loop is considered a moderate hike. Some spots can be slippery to cross in the gorge, so please proceed with caution.

The scenic waterfalls and rapids along the way are both beautiful and calming.

There's even an onsite nature center that's open from April - October from 10 a .m. - 4 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Take some time to soak in the scenery and admire the deep green of the surrounding gorge.
