My mom hails from Mount Vernon, but I grew up in Cincinnati. So when I was little, my brothers and I would pile into the back of the 1970s Suburban my parents purchased from my grandparents, and make the 2.5-hour drive to the heart of the Buckeye State. Galena signaled the last stretch of the road trip, and there were several restaurants in this rural locale that we frequented. Cheshire Market was one of them; it opened in 1986 and while it’s remained a hidden gem to most Ohioans, locals in the area know it as the best pizza in Galena — and, in my opinion, Ohio!
