Welcome to Crosskeys Tavern, a historic pub that's home to an exceptional menu, plenty of spirits and a friendly ghost the locals know and love.
You'll find it in the heart of downtown Chillicothe, Ohio's first capital.
A popular hub in the community, Crosskeys Tavern is always bustling on the weekends. First time visitors are usually surprised to hear that this popular bar is home to a friendly ghost named Harold.
Since 1972, Crosskeys Tavern has been a staple in Chillicothe, but the building dates back to the 1800s.
Harold enjoys turning the lights on and off, making footstep sounds in the basement and even moving objects around the bar. Both employees and customers have reported strange happenings throughout the years.
It's unknown who the ghost of Harold once was. A local medium learned his name after a paranormal investigation and it's rumored that he was somehow connected to a series of underground tunnels that lie beneath the downtown streets. The annual Chillicothe Ghost Walk often features personal accounts of encounters with Harold.
Ghost stories aside, you should know this isn't the type of bar where you can skip the food. One the menu, you'll find a surprisingly wide variety of cuisine. There's everything from scrumptious house sandwiches...
