While locals know the Cleveland Botanical Garden as one of the most impressive garden centers in the state, it's certainly not the only such garden. Another such example is located out in Alliance, and it's well worth visiting. Nature comes to life in the most incredible way at this unique site, and it truly must be seen to be believed. Pack some snacks for the road trip and grab your camera, because you could easily spend all day in this dreamy place.
Welcome to the Beech Creek Botanical Gardens and Nature Preserve!
This gorgeous site can be found at 11929 Beech St. NE, and it's a treat in any and every season. Admission is only $5 to $7, depending on the season, and it's an investment that's well worth it.
This natural haven is celebrating its 23rd anniversary this year, and you won't want to miss the chance to visit.
This unique botanical park consists of gardens, trails, and educational centers like the Butterfly House and The Amazing Garden Plant Exploratorium, for which there is no additional admission.
At the Butterfly House, you'll encounter beautiful insects between June and September.
This seasonal exhibit houses butterflies and caterpillars alike, all of which are native species that are eventually released to contribute to the local environment.
When you visit the Butterfly House, you'll find yourself surrounded by breathtaking plants that they can't resist.
These gorgeous natural flowers and weeds, as they're known colloquially, are irresistible to native butterflies, skippers, and moths.
And you'll feel a million miles away from it all when you're in The Amazing Garden Plant Exploratorium.
This unique educational center is home to 2,000 square feet of hands-on learning. 20 exhibits bring visitors closer to nature than they ever could have imagined, and a plethora of unique critters and plants help visitors learn about the environment.
This garden, perhaps surprisingly, is full of life in every season.
In the winter months, Bird in Hand allows locals to hand-feed chickadees. Hot cocoa, fires, camaraderie, and cute birds make the experience memorable.
But springtime is doubtlessly the most magical season to visit the garden.
Art in Bloom is right around the corner, and it's an event you won't want to miss. This horticultural art gallery immerses visitors in color, placing works of art in areas that are overflowing with spring flowers.
If you can't make time for a visit this spring, there will surely be another event sometime this year that's well worth the visit.
Plant sales, celebrations, day camps, and even yoga classes are on their calendar of events. There's something going on at this botanical center in every season, making it well worth the trip from Cleveland.
Or you can squeeze a visit into your busy schedule without an event... there's already plenty to keep you entertained!
Take the kids to the Nature Playground, hang out on the Wildlife Deck, or swing by the Nature Store. No matter what you choose to do, you're sure to have a great time.
Roughly three miles of trails will allow you to explore the property and enjoy a bit of Northeast Ohio sunshine during your visit, so be sure to wear your finest hiking boots.
The Creekside Trail, though a bit of a challenge for those with limited mobility, is well worth visiting. It's the shortest trail on the property, but it will bring visitors close to a stream and a wetland.
And be prepared for absolute beauty, because this enchanting site just might leave you mesmerized.
This botanical center is close enough to Cleveland to merit a visit, and every local absolutely should swing by when their schedule allows it. Which feature are you most looking forward to seeing?
If you can't get enough of local landscapes, you'll surely fall in love with this hummingbird garden near Cleveland.
